1 Research Scholarship for MSc

A call is now open for the award of 1 (one) Research Grant for candidates with a Master’s degree is open within the activities developed in the frame of the evaluation of the proposals of the programmes “Programas de Apoio a Edifícios mais eficientes da Administração Central e Serviços” at NOVA School of Science and Technology, NOVA FCT, funded by Fundo Ambiental.

A procedure is open for the awarding of 1 Research Grant for a Master's degree within the scope of activities developed within the PRR Support Programs under the investment 'TC-C13-i02 - Energy Efficiency in Central Public Administration Buildings' at the NOVA School of Science and Technology, NOVA FCT, financed by national funds through the Environmental Fund, under the following conditions:

• Scientific Area: Electrical and Computer Engineering and Civil Engineering

2. Admission Requirements:

• Holders of Master´s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Be enrolled in a course within the educational project of a higher education institution (proof of enrolment must be submitted at the contract signing stage);providing a degree (proof of registration to be presented in the contract phase);
• Have good teamwork skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to work independently;
• Have previous experience in evaluating applications within the scope of the investment "TC-C13-i02 - Energy Efficiency in Central Public Administration Buildings";

Be proficient in Portuguese (spoken and written).

3. Preferred factors:Knowledge and interest in topics related to energy efficiency in buildings and energy generation based on renewable energy sources.

4. Working plan:

The work plan considers ensuring the monitoring of the execution projects supported under the investment "TC-C13-i02 – Energy Efficiency in Central Public Administration Buildings".

The research fellow will contribute to achieving the following objectives:

• Verification of the measures presented by the applications aimed to the annual reduction of the primary energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, and the economic rationality of the interventions in general;
• Support in verifying the specific technical requirements of the types of interventions provided for in the applications;
• Verification of the equipment and solutions presented in the respective applications, as well as their installation, regarding compliance with the national and European legislation and regulations in force in the respective areas of intervention;
• Preparation of payment analysis documents to be applied to payment requests and analysis reports that must accompany each payment request;
• Preparation of reports and other specific documentation.

6. Work place:The work will be developed in the Department of Civil Engineering of NOVA School of Science and Technology at the NOVA University of Lisbon under the scientific supervision of Prof. Dr. Daniel Aelenei.

7. Contract duration: Thescholarship shall be for 3 months, starting at the 7th of July 2025. The scholarship may be renewed within the validity of the project.

8. Amount of monthly maintenance allowance:The amount of the scholarship corresponds to€1309, 64 according to the table of values of the scholarships assigned directly by FCT, I. P: in the country (see Annex I of the new Regulation), The payment is made monthly by bank transfer.

9. Selection procedure: Applications will be ranked based on the
Qualifications and scientific merit, and motivation letter. If considered necessary by the jury, interviews may be carried out. In all cases, the adequacy of the applicant's profile will be considered according to the functions/activities to be developed. Applications that do not include all the required elements for sending the application will be automatically excluded from the application process. The phases and selection criteria and their respective weightings are as follows:

a) Qualifications and Scientific Merit (50%)

c)If additional evaluation elements are required, there may be an interview process between the
- classified candidates in the evaluation process. The interview may have a maximum weight of 20% for the final evaluation, with the others changing to 40% each.

10. Composition of the selection Jury:

Applications shall be submitted to a jury composed of the following members:

11. Publication/notification of results:The final evaluation results will be notified, up to 15 days after the deadline for submission of applications, through electronic mail, from the results proposed by the jury, having access to the minutes and the final sorting list. After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to pronounce on the draft
- making, in the
- hearing of the interested parties, under the Code of the Administrative Procedure. After the prior hearing period, the final decision will be taken, and again notifying all candidates through electronic mail. A complaint process can be done within 15 working days (for the
- mail ad dress used for the notification) or appeal within 10 business days, addressed to aelenei@fct. unl. pt.

12. Application deadline and information about applications submission:The application process is open from 17th June 2025 to the 1st of July 2025. Applications must be formalized by sending an
- mail to aelenei@fct. unl. pt ; indicating in the subject: Application for a Research scholarship; accompanied by the following documents: curriculum vitae, motivation letter (max. 1 page), copy of the certificate of qualifications, and other supporting documents considered relevant, namely the registration proof of enrolment in a course not providing a degree, as referred above.
