Overview
Accountant Contabilista Certificado Portugal - Based in Barcelona. Join Air Products at the European Shared Services Center in Cornella de Llobregat, Barcelona, to support the group's subsidiaries across Europe and other regions. We are looking for an Accountant - Contabilista Certificado for Portugal, based in Barcelona. The role is part of the European Financial Accounting team and will be responsible for all key compliance deadlines of the Air Products legal entities in Portugal.
Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate data preparation on Portuguese GAAP basis for external reporting to Tax Authorities, Auditors, and Statistical Office. Also responsible for timely monthly reporting for US GAAP in line with the Company’s Month-end Closing schedule.
- Prepare the local GAAP Statutory Accounts for Air Products entities in a timely manner, including working papers and schedules for the statutory
- end audit to obtain a clean
- off from auditors. - Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations (Consolidação de Balancetes) in line with company policy. If coordination with peer groups or other functions is required, ensure reconciliations are completed and filed correctly.
- Under supervision of the Team Leader, set own priorities and work plan within the Finance accounting group and deadlines.
You Will Have
- Certified Portuguese accountant: Contabilista Certificado with registration in the Ordem dos Contabilistas, working as TOC (Técnico Oficial de Contas).
- 3-5 years of experience in preparing annual Portuguese GAAP financial statements and annual accounts, in accordance with IFRS.
- Basic tax knowledge of Portuguese Corporate Tax Returns and local taxes (Legislação Fiscal Portuguesa).
- Ability to communicate effectively in a large
- disciplinary environment. - Fluent in English and Portuguese. Good level of Spanish is an advantage.
Nice to have
- US GAAP knowledge and experience in Spain is advantageous.
- Experience with SAP is advantageous.
