Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and driven Chartered Accountant to enhance our accounting operations, support business growth, and serve our global customers. The role involves key financial reporting, working alongside our Finance and Payroll Managers, reporting directly to the CFO and VP of Customer Success.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are smart, energetic, and autonomous, with a passion for startups and a background in corporate or consulting environments. Experience in startups or tech is not mandatory, making this a great career pivot opportunity.

Responsibilities

1. Act as subject matter expert in accounting and taxes
2. Maintain daily accounting records
3. Ensure compliance with standards and regulations
4. Handle financial reporting and stakeholder trust
5. Prepare VAT and corporate tax filings
6. Analyze financial trends and issues
7. Communicate with Tax Authorities
8. Assist with forecasts and analysis
9. Support customer queries
10. Participate in selecting accounting ERP
11. Manage financial data integrity and reconciliations
12. Define and optimize processes for scaling

Requirements

1. Based in Portugal or willing to relocate
2. Registered Chartered Accountant with Portuguese Order
3. Bachelor’s/Master’s in relevant fields
4. At least 5 years of experience, including 3 in Portuguese accounting
5. Experience with Primavera ERP recommended
6. Strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting standards
7. Proficient in English and Portuguese
8. Analytical and
   - solving skills
9. Attention to detail and rigor
10. Proficiency in Excel and financial software
11. Experience in customer interfacing
12. Self-managed,
    - oriented
13. Team player with a positive attitude

1. Experience in audit or with top firms

4. Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
