Discover the Role
As an Accounting & Tax Team Leader you will be responsible for a team of 5-7 people in the Accounting & Tax Department. You will ensure that the quality of the deliverables and the workflow in the team follows TMF standards, while building high level relationships with feeders, clients and third party suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping: Review closing figures; assist managers with technical GAAP interpretations and doubt/problem solving; review GAAP conversions (mappings); ensure the correctness and
- time preparation of deliverables; detect and escalate potential risks for directors or suspicious movements. - Tax Compliance: Validate VAT, Withholding tax and CIT final draft forms; ensure all required tax forms are completed; detect and escalate potential risks from client tax obligations; manage tax audits together with Account Manager.
- Cash Management: Ensure payments count with client approval and beneficiary account support document; validate transfer orders over a certain threshold for final signature.
- Statutory Reporting: Review Annual Accounts consistency and ensure format follows TMF standards; review Consolidation Annual Accounts full package.
- Corporate Reporting: Review any deliverable prior to being sent to client.
- Audit Assistance: Follow up audit status; attend high level queries from auditors; attend meetings with auditors when the client is present.
- Other Functions: Participate actively in Account Managers’ training and development processes; inform Account Managers about the why’s and how’s; detect potential promotions and perform team appraisals; detect and manage potential dissatisfaction from team members; distribute balanced workload; maintain good environment; be main contact for clients on service delivery matters; detect

- selling opportunities; review team’s time sheets; coordinate with other departments; ensure that all obligations are met; participate in department control sheets; ensure established workflow is followed; detect client concerns and look for solutions; assist Head of Department on recruitment processes and fee budget preparation; meet feeders and clients to enhance relationships; account for team internal reporting to Head of Department; work with Head of Department on new regulations and opportunities.
Key Requirements
- University's Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or similar;
- At least 5-6 years of experience in a similar outsourcing firm;
- Certified accountant;
- Excellent knowledge of Local GAAP & Tax compliance; knowledge about US GAAP/IFRS would be considered a plus;
- Experience in people management or provable/visible leadership skills;
- Resourceful, independent and strong
- solving abilities; - Analytical structured mind set with ability to follow and build upon existing processes;
- Proficiency in MS Office package, along with experience of local accounting ERPs;
- Advanced or proficient English;
- Relevant certifications - local or global (e. g. ACCA for A&T).
- Excellent written and communication skills, in English and local language;
- Strong
- playing skills; - Quick-learning and flexibility towards changing environments;
- Excellent organization skills and adaptability to a high multitasking environment.
