We Are Hiring: Senior Accounting Auditor

Location: Lisbon

About the Role:

At our company, we are looking for Senior Accounting Auditors to strengthen our Finance Second Line of Defense.

You will be responsible for assessing and enhancing the quality of the accounting control
- ups across multiple regions and entities within your scope.

This role requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication with stakeholders, and a solid understanding of accounting controls and audit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acquire a deep understanding of the accounting control frameworks in all assigned regions and entities.
• Build strong, transparent and efficient communication channels with all stakeholders under your coverage.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

Accounting Control Plan:

• Ensure the proper rollout and monitoring of the Group Accounting Control Plan in your assigned regions/entities.
• Perform oversight reviews of the control
  - ups and quantify deficiencies identified.
• Prepare reports for Senior Management and governance bodies.
• Ensure Regional Finance teams comply with control obligations and Group procedures.
• Perform 2Lo
  D controls on central Head Office teams.

Accounting Certification:

• Collect and analyse accounting certificates from regions and entities under your scope.
• Understand the production and control processes of each entity.
• Report issues and related remediation actions clearly and concisely.
• Contribute to preparing all relevant reports for management.

Recommendations Follow-up:

• Monitor recommendations issued by Internal Audit, General Inspection, Regulators and External Auditors.

Operational Risk Incidents:

• Follow up on Finance-related operational risk incidents and assess their impact on the control framework.
• Monitor remediation actions and timelines.

Internal Control Committees:

• Hold quarterly Internal Control Committee (FORCC) meetings with regions/entities.
• Contribute to the Accounting and Financial Risk Committee (AFRi
  C) for your allocated scope.
• Conduct
  - hoc meetings with Regional Finance teams when necessary.

Additional Control Plans:

• Ensure proper rollout of any additional control plans applicable to your scope.

Technical Skills & Background:

• Experience in audit or control, preferably in the banking or financial sector.
• Background in Financial Services with solid knowledge of IFRS standards (Big 4 experience strongly valued).
• Strong accounting expertise.
