We are currently hiring for a prestigious Global Banking Institution with strong European roots and active operations in Portugal. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to join the team in Lisbon.

Mission of the Role

As an Accounting Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of financial data across multiple regions and entities. You will contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the Group Accounting Control Plan, support regional finance teams, and help maintain a robust internal control environment.

Main Tasks of the Role

• Acquire deep knowledge of accounting control frameworks across assigned regions and entities.
• Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Roll out and monitor the Group Accounting Control Plan across your scope.
• Conduct
  - site audits and assess control deficiencies.
• Prepare reports for senior management and governance bodies.
• Ensure compliance with control obligations and internal procedures.
• Analyze and validate FACT certificates from various entities.
• Monitor recommendations from internal/external audits and regulators.
• Track operational risk incidents and their impact on financial controls.
• Organize and lead Internal Control Committee (FORCC) meetings.
• Contribute to the Accounting and Financial Risk Committee (AFRi
  C).
• Ensure proper rollout of additional control plans as needed.

Requirements

Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Experience : Minimum 2 years in finance, audit, or control functions.

Technical Skills :

• Strong accounting expertise.
• Familiarity with financial control frameworks and audit processes.

Languages : Advanced level in English (spoken and written).

Soft Skills :

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to challenge and validate information.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Team-oriented and adaptable to changing workloads.
