We are now looking for an Accounts Receivable Junior Accountant to onboard our GBS in Lisbon.

Responsibilities - your mission

• Performs administrative tasks related to the process
• Contributes to the elaboration of Financial Statements
• Ensures compliance with legal regulations, accounting rules, and internal controls, following standards and procedures defined by Group experts and process managers
• Applies financial processes and tools, involving financial flows and transactions according to IFRS
• Uses specific finance and transactional knowledge in Accounts Receivable
• Defines accounting structure and principles for general accounting and related transactions, supporting harmonization across legal entities
• Proposes continuous improvements to Accounts Receivable processes and systems

Detailed tasks

In priority

• Allocate incoming payments to invoices manually or via electronic tools

At a second stage, following SSC growth

• Create and modify customer master data
• Analyze customer contracts and register them in SAP, including data creation and modification
• Issue invoices, credit notes, and advance payments according to legal, accounting, and tax rules
• Verify external documentation such as Airway Bills, Bills of Lading, Transfer of Title, Customer certificates, etc.
• Analyze and prepare debtor statements
• Send monthly reconciliation debt letters to customers
• Collaborate on customer dunning processes and debt reporting
• Analyze bad debts, post provisions, and
  - offs as appropriate
• Analyze balance sheet accounts related to receivables and advanced payments
• Prepare and send aging reports to the business
• Support audit processes
• Apply internal controls in transaction postings

Requirements

• Junior accountant profile (recent graduates) or with experience in accounting administrative tasks
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Admin, Economics, or relevant experience
• Knowledge of accounting principles and ability to implement actions
• Experience with accounting transactions and closing processes
• Understanding of lean principles for process improvement
• Ability to understand customer perspectives and translate into actions
• Knowledge of IFRS and accounting processes
• Ability to interact with and influence customers across locations (US/Europe)
• Understanding of internal control principles
• Advanced level of English; additional languages are a plus
