The Role - AI Leadership & Flexibility:

We are seeking an AI Tech Lead to join our core, founding team, ideally based in Lisbon. This is a critical Founding Team position, with the immediate and primary focus on leading the development of our proprietary AI product for tailored visa and tax strategies (starting with V1 for Portugal, and rapid expansion to Spain and Italy).

You will report directly to the CEO and join a very small tech team (starting with +1 FE Developer). Your mission is to define the AI strategy and execute the foundational backend architecture that supports it.

Note on Flexibility: We are looking for an AI Tech Leader first and foremost. While the skills listed below are crucial for a Founding Engineer who must build and scale the entire system, the specific technologies, Ro
R, etc. ) are not hard blockers. We prioritize a
- solver with a strong AI background and the agility to adapt quickly to our stack.

What You'll Do (AI Tech Lead / Full Stack Ownership):

• AI Product Leadership (PRIMARY FOCUS):
  • Lead the strategy, design, and deployment of our proprietary AI product for visa/tax solutions.

  • Work
    - on with models, embeddings, and personalization engines (going beyond simple API calls) to create unique, tailored user solutions.

• Backend Development & Scalability:
  • Design and build the foundational backend architecture that powers the AI product.

  • Lead development across modern stacks preferred, but Ro
    R, Python/Django, PHP/Laravel are also welcomed).

  • Design and optimize scalable microservices & APIs (Postgres as core DB).

• Dev
  Ops & Infrastructure Ownership:
  • Define and evolve our CI/CD pipelines (e. G. , Github Actions, Circle
    CI, Jenkins).

  • Manage infrastructure as code (Terraform) and scale containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).

• Leadership & Culture (Small Team):
  • Mentor and guide the small but growing engineering team.

  • Establish coding standards, best practices, and a strong engineering culture.

What We're Looking For (Mindset and Experience):

• Proven AI Leadership: Deep,
  - on ability and experience in prototyping and developing with AI/ML models—not just consuming
  - party APIs. This is a
  - have.

• Strong Backend Acumen (8+ Years): Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and maintain robust backend systems in a
  - growth environment.

• Global Product Vision: Experience building and scaling products used globally.

• Frontend Exposure: Experience working with React-based frontend stacks is highly valuable for effective collaboration in a small team.

• Location: Already based in Lisbon or willing to relocate immediately (Huge plus).
