Android System Engineer – Automotive OS (Embedded / Kotlin / C++)

Lisbon - Hybrid 2 Days per week in office, 3 remotely

A leading European technology firm is seeking an Android System Engineer to help shape the next generation of
- car experiences for one of the world’s most prestigious automotive brands. This is not standard app development — you'll work at the intersection of embedded systems and
- edge UI, customizing Android from the kernel level up for
- performance vehicle integration.

In this role, you’ll tailor the Android OS for
- gen vehicle platforms, develop
- facing and backend applications, and collaborate closely with hardware and Dev
Ops teams to optimize system performance and reliability. Your work will touch every layer of the stack—from C++ and Android SDK to Kotlin-based UI development. You’ll also contribute to design patterns, CI / CD pipelines, and ensure your code passes robust testing across complex systems.

We’re looking for someone with 3+ years of Android development, experience in Kotlin and
- level programming (C++), and a solid grasp of embedded Android architecture. Agile mindset,
- functional collaboration, and readiness to occasionally travel are part of the deal.
