Job Opportunity: Application Systems Engineer (APS) – Mid-Level / Junior

? Location: Portugal (must already live in PT or relocate from EU)

We are hiring an Application Systems Engineer (APS) to join an international banking technology team. This role is ideal for Mid profiles with solid technical foundations or junior candidates with good IT fundamentals, strong motivation, and willingness to learn.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve production incidents efficiently.
• Coordinate technical operations and changes (shutdowns, DRP, server activities).
• Work with development, sysadmin, DBA, and network teams on application and infrastructure changes.
• Document application architecture, procedures, supervision requirements, and technical operations.
• Maintain and test backup and restoration processes.
• Monitor applications and infrastructure in line with SLAs.
• Control capacity and performance for assigned applications.
• Automate and improve existing procedures and operational routines.
• Support development teams in defining architectures aligned with infrastructure standards.

Technical Requirements

• Experience in similar roles (Mid-level) or strong fundamentals for Junior profiles.
• Knowledge of Linux & Windows environments.
• Experience with schedulers (Control-M or similar).
• Scripting: Shell, Python, and/or Power
  Shell.
• Basic database concepts.
• Experience with backup management.
>Monitoring tools (Elastic Stack or equivalent).
• Understanding of: LDAP, Active Directory, networking, Kerberos, firewalls, reverse proxy.
• Tools: XL Deploy, Jenkins, Git, Control-M.

Location Requirement

✔ Must be based in Portugal, or

✔ Able to relocate quickly from an EU country (valid work permit required).
