Key Accountabilities
- Leader of the design team for the definition of a specific product.
- Creates, develops or adapts product design concepts based on internal standards, calculations, trials, measurements, bench tests, CAE simulations and process methods in conjunction inputs from customers.
- Checks and releases 2D drawings and 3D models within the associated project or existing products under serial production.
- Establishes interface with customers for product and specification definitions. Participates in the validation plan definition throughout the product development process, establishing the interface with customers product validation phase.
- Responsible for presenting product test results through the internal and external project customers.
- Leads the D‑FMEA release and establishes the product special characteristics SC/CC definition.
- Coordinates the planning and production of Prototype Samples.
- Creates and participates in the release of the Prototype Control Plan.
- Can coordinate prototype production cost calculation.
- Must execute Eng. tasks under the established Program time frame.
- Can coordinate the Project Development and Project team up to industrialization Kick‑off.
- Creates or participates on product engineering standards releases.
- Defines the product special characteristics for individual components.
- Prepares tolerance stack‑up studies.
- Will require materials selection, standards use and tolerance definition for casted, molded, bended or stamped parts.
- Will require knowledge in electronic hardware components to discuss or ask for alternatives by PCBA suppliers in conjunction with required functionalities.
- Will require a basic understanding in programming of required software applications.
- Technically assists the Production Plants within the scope of the products under serial production, for any required change due to product design correction, upgrade, or cost reduction.
- Ability to demonstrate a high knowledge in failure mode analysis.
- Ability to find applicable software solutions for the customer.
- Must have an understanding in FEM analysis and product testing as required in the automotive area.
- Demonstrates knowledge and responsibility for the performance of the quality system and standards.
Education / Experience
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with mechanical / electronic background,
- 2+ years of experience as Product Engineer in automotive industry or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in project management in automotive industry highly desired.
- Knowledge of AIAG and/or VDA standards. IATF procedures knowledge desired.
- Good knowledge of SAP R3, CATIA V5, Team Center, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
- Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from management and/or customers.
- Knowledge in CAN, LIN communication and OBD requirements, measurement devices as CANoe/ CANape/ INCA, in requirement management systems as DOORS/IRQA highly desired
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and their influences of electronic behavior and failure mode.
- Understanding in FEM analysis and product testing as required in the automotive area.
- Good English language skills (spoken and written); other languages a plus.
- Proficiency level Portuguese (spoken and written).
- Document management system, ANSYS, MATLAB, 5S techniques knowledge desired.
- Ability to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously without supervision.
