About the role
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Director of F&B.
Reporting to the Director of F&B, you will be an integral member of the F&B leadership team responsible for making key strategic and operational decisions for our Banquet, Restaurants, Bar and In Room Dining operations.
What you will do
- The role balances the critical importance of big picture leadership with the day to day management of the operation, by developing and engaging the team, problem solving and delivering results for the business;

- Maintain a visibility in the operation at key times to support operational teams and the guest experience;
- Proactively seek the industry’s top talent, ensuring we have the right people in the right roles;
- Develop strong relationships across the hotel with all stakeholders;
- Drive profitability by closely managinglabour and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, menu engineering, purchasing decisions and stock control;
- Provide leadership and management for the Food & Beverage division by establishing plans of character, integrity and quality which result in the
- range continued growth and profitability of the division and hotel;
- Coordinate the selection, training, development, and evaluation of employees and managers in the Food & Beverage Division through effective management and leadership to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met;
- range strategic planning for outlet operation;
- Control labour and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, policy making and inventory control while focusing on creative cost control and revenue generation solutions to maximize profit in the division and hotel;
- To prepare a timely and accurateforecast;
- To be visible in the operation, recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests as well as cultivate relationships with new patrons through effective marketing and personal relationships.
- Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with
- workers, thirdparties/vendors/suppliers and superiors.
- Assist with set-up and cleaning of operational areas.
- Create and post employee schedules. Interact with staff and management that is performance related. Lead and motivate the teams under own responsibility while being accountable for the operation’s assets and actions of personnel.
What you bring
- Experience and knowledge in Food & Beverage Service in a luxury environment;
- Excellent communication and organization skills;
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills;
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload;
- The candidate must hold the required authorization to work in an European country;
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency both in Portuguese and English.
