The Assistant Grower will, under the supervision of the Grower/Head Grower, execute tasks related to the overall health and success of crops within their assigned growing area. Working closely with the Greenhouse Operations Lead to ensure on‑time completion of the production schedule as well as fertigation strategies and environmental monitoring.
Responsabilidade / Role And Responsabilities
- Perform all growth media tests (Moisture, PH/EC)
- Ensure proper irrigation of all plants in the zones of their control.
- Maintain and observe general health of the plants within their zone on a daily basis.
- As needed, effectively scout for insects and diseases.
- Perform potency analysis on fresh flowers.
- As needed, help for the applications of Biologicals and for requesting additional orders from the Head Grower and Growers.
- Fill out all necessary crop paperwork.
- Work with Head Grower, Growers and Facilities to ensure irrigation is working as desired.
- Working with the labour teams, ensure all waste is removed from zone by end of day.
- Show initiative with the improvement of their processes, with intention of increasing cannabinoids, yield and terpenes.
- Work with Cleaning and Sanitation to ensure that their Zones are cleaned to a satisfactory level.
- Competent to independently: maintain mothers, cut clones, rear clones, rear transplants, maintain vegetative plants and flowering plants.
- Ability to perform cloning, transplanting, pruning, defoliation, harvesting, bucking and other tasks as assigned.
Qualificações e Requisitos / Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Completed a Horticulture or Agronomy Certificate or Diploma (preferable)
- 1 year of work experience in horticulture (cannabis or other plants)
- Proven ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications (mandatory)
- Strong inventory and production management skills
- Must possess excellent communication skills for communicating with peers and schedulers
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Minimum level of English.
- A college diploma in horticulture or related field is preferable
- 2-3 years of work in the Agricultural industry is preferable (cannabis or other plants)
