Join us as an Associate Education Developer. This role is designed for
- career professionals who are passionate about mainframe systems and cloud technologies. In the Associate Education Developer role, as a System Programmer in the Education Services team, you will support the setup and maintenance of z/VM and z
PDT mainframe environments used for training, while also contributing to
- based lab infrastructure using AWS and Azure.
Key Responsibilities:
Environment Responsibilities:
- Assist in installing, configuring and maintaining z/OS, z/VM, and z
Linux environments. - Support z/VM, z
PDT provisioning and lab setup for training simulations. - Help install and maintain BMC Applications, such as BMC AMI Ops, BMC AMI Dev
X, etc. - Monitor system performance and assist in troubleshooting lab issues.
Cloud Responsibilities (AWS/Azure):
- Support deployment of training labs on AWS and Azure.
- Assist in managing
- based virtual machines, storage, and networking.
Collaboration & Learning:
- Work closely with various BMC Teams and education developers to deliver seamless training experiences.
- Participate in internal enablement programs to build expertise across platforms.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to
- sharing initiatives. - Strong willingness to learn and grow in hybrid infrastructure environments.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 1–2 years of experience or academic exposure to mainframe systems.
- Basic understanding of:
- z/OS architecture, z/OSMF, JCL, ISPF, RACF
- SMP/E, JES2/JES3,
- Db2, CICS, IMS
- Exposure to AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, or IBM mainframe technologies.
- Exposure to educational or lab environments is a plus.
