Associate Software Engineer - Porto

Location: Leça do Balio/Porto

Main Responsibilities

Follow instructions to add or change software code in
- existing functions. Implement code in moderately complex components.
Analyze tasks and communicate concerns and findings related to coding errors. Prepare code reviews for code changes and contribute to code reviews.
Develop, build, test, debug, and merge code as directed on low complexity and low risk tasks.
Perform functional developer testing of the code produced.
Demonstrate understanding of existing product software designs. Contribute to design reviews.
Follow defined software development lifecycle procedures and Abbott's quality system procedures.
Participate in reviewing impacts of component changes and determine approaches to accommodate new capabilities.
Document key changes in the code through inline and commit comments, explaining the rationale.

Education

Bachelor's Degree with 0-2 years of related experience.

Experience/Background

Basic experience in designing and developing complex software systems.
Basic knowledge of programming languages such as modular programming languages, C#, Dotnet ecosystem, and agile methodologies.
Basic understanding of
- driven development methodologies.
Basic familiarity with continuous integration & continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Demonstrated aptitude for technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic ability to develop and design.
Basic understanding of design patterns.
