Position Overview

Under the authority of the Conseillère de coopération et d’action culturelle (COCAC), you will lead the cooperation policy in your area of expertise to promote France's interests and influence.

Main Activities

• Design, negotiate, and implement bilateral university and scientific cooperation projects aligned with the policies set by the ambassador and the cultural cooperation advisor.
• Develop France's higher education and research attractiveness policies, including mobility programs.
• Define and implement an annual budget program.
• Establish relationships with local authorities, French operators, and beneficiaries of cooperation actions.
• Organize events with local institutions to strengthen scientific and university cooperation and promote idea exchange between France and Portugal.
• Coordinate
  - level idea exchanges, including the Nuit des Idées, with the cultural cooperation attaché and the chancery.
• Enhance the Alumni Portugal network through targeted actions.
• Support projects developed by French and Portuguese scientific and university partners considered priorities within our policy and European research space development.
• Promote French research excellence and disseminate scientific culture and research results.

Qualifications and Experience

A doctorate is desirable. Technical expertise in university and scientific cooperation is required. Knowledge of European funding mechanisms (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+…) is essential.
