We seek an Automation & Dev
Ops Engineer to be focused on the Observability journey for our Io
T Platform Engineering team. This role reports to the Io
T Dev
Ops Team Lead and includes the following responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Io
T observability and monitoring strategy across systems, services, and applications to ensure
- time visibility and operational resilience - Collaborate with
- functional teams—including Development, Operations, and Security—to define observability requirements across CI/CD pipelines, microservices, and Io
T platforms - Foster a proactive monitoring culture by enabling teams with the right tools, practices, and automation to detect and prevent incidents before they impact users
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights into system health, availability, and performance trends
- Embed Dev

Ops principles into observability workflows to enhance security without compromising delivery speed or quality - Ensure all automation, CI/CD, and monitoring solutions align with Vodafone’s security and compliance standards
- Support the design and ongoing refinement of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) plans, ensuring Io
T systems are resilient and recoverable in the event of disruptions - Engineering excellence – we deliver new capabilities and services in an efficient way, making sure our Io
T platform is secure, scalable,
- proof and cost effective - Delivery focus – we deliver the expected customer experience, results for the business and hit our financial metrics
- Stakeholder management – we are collaborating with our business partners as one from delivery, communication and

- day relationship view point - Improve the Connectivity service delivered to Vodafone Io
T customers - Assure the proper dimensioning for the owned Io
T platforms, guaranteeing capacity is used efficiently - Guarantee owned Io
T Connectivity platforms can cope with new products being delivered to Io
T customers - Manage stakeholders and vendors as required for the technical delivery and report project progress & activities
Who You Are
- Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline with Computer Science
- Proven Experience working with system monitoring toolchains including metrics instrumentation and monitoring in distributed systems – valued direct operational experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Tempo
- Good understanding of Dev
Ops methodology mindset, CI/CD best practices and agile principles - Understanding of Open
Telemetry concepts, traces, logs and metrics; direct experience is highly valued - Comfortable working in a Kubernetes and Docker containerized environment
- Proven experience with git and version control workflows
- Comfortable with scripting using bash, python, groovy
- Experience with Jenkins or any other CI/CD tool
- Valued experience with integration with other Dev
Ops stack tools - Industry experience with Software Platforms on Linux,
- premises and cloud Server technologies - Strong grasp of Dev
Ops principles and best practices, with the ability to work across development and operations functions - Hands-on experience in Observability practices, strategy and tooling
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes using tools like Jenkins, Git
Hub Actions, Git
Lab CI - Proven ability to design, build, and maintain effective alerting and reporting dashboards
- Understanding of security principles, practices and standards and how they translate into
- world technical solutions - Able to work well within a multinational, multicultural environment
- Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies, especially SAFe, desirable
- Experience in complex international programmes: the role holder will need to be able to work laterally with technical (engineering and operations) and business functions (line of business, finance) within Vodafone
- Good understanding of information security
