AWS Backend Developer Lisboa

Ops/Site Reliability Engineer (Lisbon-Remote) at Volkswagen Group Digital Solutions [Portugal]. This role focuses on developing and operating AWS-based cloud solutions, collaborating across teams on backend development, tooling, and architectural decisions in the automotive context.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing AWS solutions that meet user needs and business requirements, while ensuring scalability and technical feasibility.
• Developing backend services primarily in Java/Kotlin, with occasional Node. js or Python components as needed.
• Developing, deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK (Type
  Script/Node. js), focusing on serverless and containerized solutions.
• Configuring and integrating AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EC2, and supporting services to build cloud solutions.
• Designing and maintaining Git
  Lab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Participating in solution review processes, both internal team reviews and formal architectural assessments with the enterprise architecture team.
• Conducting thorough code reviews and contributing to technical
  - making processes.
• Working collaboratively with multiple teams on backend development, tooling, and architectural decisions in the automotive context.

To succeed, you’ll need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or comparable work experience.
• Experience working with Cloud platforms and services as backend developer.
• Experience with backend development in Java/Kotlin, with knowledge of Node. js or Python as a plus.
• Experience with RESTful APIs,
  - driven architecture, serverless solutions, and AWS integration services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, database design, and best practices.
• Experience with tools for logging and monitoring.
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Great English skills, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS Cloud services.
• Knowledge with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, etc. )
• Knowledge of AWS CDK (preferred) or other tools like Terraform/Cloud
  Formation/etc.
