Azure SQL Database Administrator (relocation to Belgium)

We are looking for an Azure SQL Database Administrator (DBA) who is willing to relocate to join our Client’s team in Brussels, Belgium.

Eligibility:

You must have resided in Portugal for at least the past 5 years.

Portuguese citizenship is mandatory.

A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree is required.

You must be prepared to obtain EU security clearance upon accepting the job offer (with Hexa coordination).

You must be ready for
- site work in Brussels.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and manage both
- premises and
- based database environments, with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server.

Support database migrations from
- premise systems to cloud environments, particularly Azure SQL.

Ensure high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations, including clustering and virtual infrastructure setups.

Perform routine installations, configurations, backups, and maintenance of databases in cloud and
- premises setups.

Automate database administration tasks using tools such as Power
Shell , CI/CD pipelines , and Ansible.

Create and manage dynamic reports for database systems using Power
BI , SSRS , SSIS , and Grafana.

Develop and implement standardized reporting and automation policies for streamlined operations.

Contribute to software lifecycle management and database product roadmap planning.

Ensure security best practices are upheld across all database operations.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Technical Expertise:

Strong expertise in cloud database solutions , specifically Azure SQL.

Extensive experience managing Microsoft SQL Server in both
- premises and cloud environments.

Proficient in database automation and scripting with tools like Power
Shell.

Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools supporting Dev
Ops practices.

Knowledge of additional database platforms such as Oracle , My
SQL , and Postgre
SQL.

Monitoring & Automation Tools:

Proficiency in monitoring and reporting tools: Power
BI , SSRS , SSIS , and Grafana.

Hands-on experience with automation tools like Ansible for task orchestration.

Best Practices & System Optimization:

In-depth understanding of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures.

Strong knowledge of system and data security principles.

Demonstrated ability to optimize database performance and ensure operational efficiency.

Work Environment

Full-time onsite presence required in Brussels, Belgium.
