Senior Java Developer – Hybrid in Portugal

A company in the online gaming industry is looking for a highly experienced Java Developer to join their backend team. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing complex backend systems that support a
- scale gaming platform. As a senior developer, you'll be a key technical contributor and mentor within a
- paced, collaborative environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Drive the design and development of robust, scalable backend systems for
  - performance applications.
• Participate in architecture discussions and propose effective design solutions.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth system integration and cohesive development processes.
• Manage integration of
  - party services to extend backend functionality.
• Take full ownership of the backend development cycle, including deployments and server operations.
• Troubleshoot critical production issues to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Guide and mentor junior developers, supporting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Desired experience:

• At least 6 years of professional experience in Java , particularly in
  - throughput environments.
• Strong grasp of software design patterns, clean architecture principles, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multithreaded environments with effective concurrency handling.
• Advanced SQL skills, including working with complex data models and writing optimized queries.
• Proficiency in the Spring Framework ecosystem is essential.
• Experience with message brokers such as Apache Kafka or Rabbit
  MQ is beneficial.
• Strong
  - solving skills and the ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic setting.
