Role Overview

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join a cybersecurity‑focused team in Lisbon. The professional will work mostly on‑site and be responsible for building and optimizing backend services, ensuring performance, scalability, and security across data‑intensive applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain backend systems and databases, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and security to support data‑heavy applications.
• Ensure clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code, following best testing practices.

Mandatory Requirements (Must be included in the candidate's CV)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience in backend development, ideally in scalable and high‑performance systems.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language: Node. js, Java, or Python.
• Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL/No
  SQL) and cloud‑based architectures.
• Experience with distributed systems and backend service design.
• English proficiency: B2 or C1 (spoken and written).

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards, practices, or technologies.
• Experience working in highly regulated or security‑focused environments.

Work Model

• 90–100% on‑site in Entrecampos (Lisbon) — this is mandatory.
• Full‑time position within the cybersecurity sector.
