We’re looking for a seasoned Backend Engineer to join an agile team and play a key role in designing and maintaining the core services that power its AI-driven platform. You’ll work with modern technologies, contribute directly to improving healthcare delivery, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and AI teams.

? ? What you’ll do

• Design and implement backend services in Python (Fast
  API preferred)
• Build and document clear, reliable REST APIs for web and mobile applications
• Package and deploy services with Docker, automating deployments to AWS
• Design schemas, write queries, and optimize performance in Postgre
  SQL
• Manage flexible, unstructured data using Mongo
  DB
• Write tests, add logs and alerts, and monitor system performance and uptime
• Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users
• Collaborate with
  - functional teams (Product, Design, AI) to deliver meaningful improvements every week

? Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Python backend development (Fast
  API preferred)
• Hands-on experience with containerized deployments (Docker) on AWS
• Solid database knowledge with Postgre
  SQL and Mongo
  DB
• Proven track record of building and maintaining scalable backend services
• Portuguese and english are a must

✨ Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare or related industries
• Interest in Large Language Models (LLMs) and NLP technologies (no need to be an expert)

• Start: Immediate
• Location: Mostly remote. Onboarding phase: 1 per week, based in Lisbon
• Engagement: Freelance, via Shakers - long term
