We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in LATAM. This position is remote. The candidate will manage various areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will play a central role in making it easier for users to access Rain and build products that help users maintain positive cash availability. You will work with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet enabling seamless transactions and employer linking. Our ideal candidate is excited to tackle tough technical challenges and contribute to strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend alternative approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet ambitious targets
• Design and implement reliable systems and applications in a fully distributed
  - services architecture
• Build and maintain integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs supporting
  - facing web and mobile applications
• Focus on creating reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability
• Enforce observability best practices with logging, metrics, and alerting systems
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation
• Monitor Rain systems for performance and scalability improvements
• Collaborate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development lifecycle

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Proficient in
  - end languages such as Go, Java, Python, C++
• Strong expertise in RESTful API development
• Experience with SQL and No
  SQL databases, data modeling, and optimization
• Experience building reliable, scalable
  - facing applications
• Proficiency in distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS
• Ability to own projects and drive initiatives independently
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD frameworks
• Proficiency with message queuing systems like Kafka, Rabbit
  MQ, Flink
