Job Title: Software Engineer II - Platform Backend Developer

Position Overview

As a Studio Platform Backend Developer, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of the Onfido Studio Platform. Onfido Studio is an orchestration solution to build, manage, and deploy identity verification journeys. It includes a
- code Workflow Builder for visual workflow creation, along with APIs for customer integration, flow management, reports, and webhooks. You will design and maintain the backend infrastructure that supports these functionalities, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency. You will collaborate with backend and frontend developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to deliver features that enhance user experience and support scalable, compliant verification flows across markets.

We are seeking a Backend Developer to join the Studio Platform team. The ideal candidate has a strong
- side background and a focus on building scalable, efficient systems, working with
- functional teams to design, develop, and maintain the backend infrastructure powering the Studio Platform.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain APIs for the Studio platform and its backend services.
• Collaborate with backend and frontend developers, product managers, product designers, test engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver
  - quality features.
• Contribute to the platform’s scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Implement security best practices to protect user data and comply with industry standards.
• Participate in code reviews to improve code quality and share feedback constructively.
• Stay

  - date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of
  - side languages (e. g. , Python, Ruby).
• Experience with database technologies (e. g. , Postgre
  SQL).
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong
  - solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices and
  - driven architecture.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Git
  Lab, CI/CD pipelines, and Dev
  Ops practices.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React is a plus.
