What You'll Do

As the Tech Lead for Back-End Engineering you’ll be both a hands-on architect and the technical compass for a growing group of engineers:

• Set the technical vision - Own the
  - end roadmap, architectural standards, and
  - term scalability strategy for our
  - native platform.
• Mentor and multiply - Coach 3-5 engineers through design sessions, code reviews, and pair programming; foster a culture of quality, observability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive cloud excellence - Evolve our AWS and EKS infrastructure for
  - tenant,
  - region resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
• Champion best practices - Introduce and refine standards for CI/CD, testing, incident response, and documentation.
• Partner across functions - Work closely with Product, Data Science, and Clinical SMEs to shape features that delight users and meet regulatory needs.
  
  

Requirements

Who you are

• 8+ years building production
  - end systems in Python (asyncio/Fast
  API, Celery/RQ, pytest, mypy).
• 3+ years in a senior or
  - lead role guiding architecture and mentoring engineers.
• Deep AWS expertise
• Hands-on Kubernetes
  - how: Cluster tuning, service meshes, and runtime debugging.
• Proven
  - design mastery—you can model data for scale, weigh CAP
  - offs, and sketch
  - driven architectures on a whiteboard.
• Dev-excellence mindset—clean git history, robust CI/CD, observability (Prometheus/Grafana, Open
  Telemetry), automated testing, and blameless
  - mortems.
• Clear, empathetic communication and a track record of
  - functional collaboration.
• B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
  
  

Bonus Points

• Experience with AI frameworks and libraries
• Knowledge of data science techniques and workflows (data preprocessing, feature engineering, model development)
• Experience integrating AI/ML solutions with production systems
• Experience in healthcare, HL7/FHIR, HIPAA/GDPR compliance.
• Background in MLOps, LLM inference, or
  - processing (Kafka/Kinesis).
• Open-source contributions to Python or Kubernetes ecosystems.
