As a Bar Manager at Reid's Palace, a Belmond Hotel in Madeira, you will be part of creating unforgettable moments for our customers, colleagues, and community.

In our new sophisticated 1891 Bar, the finest products are used to create high‑quality cocktails in a contemporary style, where serving them is an art. The Bar Manager is responsible for creating innovative cocktails that delight our guests and deliver exceptional service that elevates their experience. You will bring innovation to beverages and guest experiences, work with a range of premium spirits, locally sourced ingredients, and unique flavors to craft exceptional and exclusive cocktails. You'll engage with guests, understand their preferences, and create customized cocktails tailored to their tastes, adding a special touch to the guest experience and contributing to the overall luxury atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Create a strategic vision for the bar, maintaining a high service standard and generating revenue.
• Work with the team to design an effective menu and cocktail list, ensuring excellent product quality.
• Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, demonstrating strong knowledge of cocktails, beverages, and foods.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and making them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Make recommendations to guests by demonstrating thorough knowledge of the beverage menu, ingredients, flavours, and presentation.
• Mix and garnish drinks to meet guest preferences and hotel standards.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and addressing complaints promptly.
• Recruit, train, lead, and motivate the bar team, promoting engagement and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
• Integrate sustainability into all aspects of bar operations, from sourcing to waste management.

Requirements

• Experience working in a similar role in a luxury bar environment.
• Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail recipes, and various alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to engage with guests, understand preferences, provide recommendations, and offer a positive experience.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, proper presentation, and recipe adherence.
• Creativity and innovation.
• Passion for luxury hospitality.
• Motivating and collaborative leadership.
• Intermediate computer skills (email, Microsoft, etc. ).
• Very good written and spoken English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
