What You'll Do
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategically minded Analyst to join the Commercial team of BCG X. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping our understanding of the economics behind
- facing investments. You will own tracking, ROI analysis, and strategic insight development for our commercial investment portfolio, helping leadership make smarter, faster, and more impactful investment decisions.
As part of a dynamic digital business, this role will partner closely with Product Finance to deliver holistic investment reporting, bridging internal and external initiatives. Your work will be underpinned by
- first ways of working, and a strong fluency or interest in Generative AI and automation tools is highly encouraged.
You’ll operate at both strategic and tactical levels to gather, assess, and translate investment data into
- aligned insights, offering tangible impact to leadership and shaping the evolution of how we deploy and scale value through our commercial portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
Commercial Investments & Portfolio Reporting
- Manage the

- end tracking and analysis of commercial (client-facing) investments - Support ROI analysis and derive meaningful insights to inform investment strategy and prioritization.
- Integrate with Product Finance to drive holistic investment reporting across both commercial and internal capability investments.
- Maintain
- level views to visualize how investments are being deployed, what’s performing, and where to pivot.
Insight Generation & Leadership Syndication
- Develop KPI metrics and drive automated reporting to provide visibility into investment performance, trends, and themes.
- Prepare weekly reporting and actionable investment insights to ultimately influence leadership.
- Assist in the creation of
- level materials that support investment plays, themes, and strategic
- making.
Technology-Enabled Financial Workflows
- Leverage modern digital tools and Gen
AI-enabled solutions (e. g. , copilots, automated reporting assistants) to scale the accuracy and speed of insights. - Partner with BI and analytics teams to design and refine workflows that minimize manual effort and maximize business impact.
- Continuously identify opportunities to digitize and automate repeatable portfolio processes.
YOU’RE GOOD AT
- Synthesizing large complex data structures and translating investment records into
- aligned summaries. - Leveraging Gen
AI and digital products to improve analytical output, reporting cadence, and narrative clarity. - Building trusted relationships across diverse teams including Product, Finance, Case teams, and Leadership.
- Balancing
- orientation with an ability to zoom out and explain what matters and why. - Thriving in
- paced, iterative environments with shifting priorities and complex portfolios. - Navigating shifting priorities with a proactive,

What You'll Bring
- Strong curiosity and a willingness to get into large amounts of complex data to support sound,
- relevant decisions. - Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a quantitative discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in investment analysis, commercial finance, or portfolio reporting roles.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Power
Point, and Word; experience with Tableau, Power BI, or Power Automate is a plus. - Demonstrated interest in Generative AI, automation tools, or digital innovation.
- Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and business acumen.
- A
- starter mindset, ownership orientation, and passion for improving how investment decisions are made. Conscientiousness and excellent attention to detail and accuracy
