Our client is a solution provider and market leader for building electrical installations , safety and automation technology in the fields of mechanical engineering, wind power, building and lighting technology.

To pursue their expansion strategy, they are looking for a Business Development Manager, based in the North Area of Portugal and reporting to the Iberian Country Manager.

The ideal candidate will be a highly commercial and business developer profile, with responsibility for sales figures and experienced in B2B consultative selling, prescribing solutions to engineering, industry, installers, property, investors and end customers.

Main Responsibilities

▪ Define, together with the Iberian General Manager, and implement a business development plan for Portugal

▪ Identify new business opportunities and manage the projects of the accounts within the Portuguese market scope

▪ Ensure customer satisfaction by always responding to the client’s needs

▪ Establish lasting relationships with key prescribers in the market

▪ Provide the necessary technical and commercial support, coordinating its actions with the technical/commercial team of the Iberian organisation and the European head office

▪ Analyse and maintain updated data, prepare reports and report relevant business information to the Iberian General Management.

Qualifications

▪ Higher education in Industrial, electrical or electronic engineering

▪ In-depth knowledge of the industrial and/or building automation market

▪ Technical knowledge in industrial safety would be an asset

▪ Minimum professional experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar position (in the industrial and/or building automation market and in sales) and in selling to OEMs, engineering companies, installers and end customers)

▪ Digital skills: office 365 package, Power BI, CRM or SAP

▪ Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish.

▪ Availability to travel within Portugal on a regular basis, to Spain 4 to 6 times a year and occasionally to the European Head Quarter
