Business Intelligence Engineer II, Maintenance Automation Platform
Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to provide statistical and analytical insights from services supporting one of the world’s largest Reliability, Maintenance Engineering (RME) platforms. As part of the Maintenance Automation Platform team, we support various aspects of the automation pyramid by collecting, storing, analyzing, and delivering machine data to internal consumers within Amazon’s WW Fulfillment Network.
Our systems connect
- level automation with the cloud, aligning solutions with industry standards and best practices, from device to enterprise levels. Advanced systems leverage Machine Learning and Big Data to enable predictive actions, reduce downtime, and enhance Overall Equipment Efficiency.
This role requires strong statistical and analytical skills, deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions and data engineering, along with solid business acumen. The ideal candidate is a

Key job responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, and support a platform providing secure access to large datasets.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver comprehensive BI solutions.
- Model data and metadata to support
- hoc and
- built reports. - Develop and maintain metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to inform business decisions.
- Adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, ensuring data integrity, validation, and documentation.
- Identify root causes of problems through analysis, understanding broader contexts.
- Utilize data mining, modeling, and analytical techniques to develop customer segmentation and predictive models.
- Address
- priority requests from senior leaders. - Understand Amazon’s data resources and determine appropriate usage.
- Continuously improve reporting and analysis processes, automating and simplifying
- service support.
The successful candidate will have strong business acumen, curiosity, excellent analytical and technical skills, effective communication, and leadership abilities. They should be comfortable with ambiguity,
- oriented,
- picture thinkers, and enjoy working in a
- paced environment. Collaboration with RME teams and the broader BI community is essential.
About the team
The Maintenance Automation Platform (MAP) Team ensures
- generated data leads to automated, proactive, and predictive maintenance actions. Our goal is to mature and integrate core software tools into a unified Maintenance Automation Platform.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience analyzing data with Redshift, Oracle, No
SQL. - Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Quicksight.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python) for data processing.
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, Dynamo
DB, S3, Redshift. - Background in data mining, ETL, and using
- scale databases in a business context.
