Capex & Services Buyer
ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. Position Scope
You will be responsible for managing all Sidul plant capex and services (hard/soft) for the procurement team. This individual will be a key member of the site Corporate Engineering team, Operations, and Maintenance teams, focusing on all site capex and services, contracts, compliance, negotiations, spend profiles, and sourcing alternative suppliers to meet business needs.
Responsible for developing and implementing ASR’s purchasing strategy through effective vendor relationship management, contract negotiations,
- hoc project management, and supplier management.
Position Responsibilities
- Negotiate and prepare contracts, pricing, and supplier agreements independently.
- Evaluate, qualify, and select suppliers based on quality, service, cost, and capability.
- Contribute to the development and presentation of
- competitive category management strategies, using analysis of supply markets and trend data. - Collaborate effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Lead meetings with C-Suite stakeholders.
Essential Capabilities (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attributes)
- Experience with purchasing on an ERP system (SAP).
- Strong negotiation skills regarding price, terms, delivery, and volume levels with suppliers.
- Ability to research and evaluate global or local suppliers based on various criteria including price, quality, and reliability.
- Solid understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Effective communication skills for presenting information clearly to all levels, including C-level.
- Ability to work in an industrial/plant setting, including factory environments.
- Proactive communication of risks and issues with service providers and capital projects.
Work Experience
- Background in industrial services and/or project purchasing, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience in operations, project, and/or maintenance within the relevant category.
- Understanding of Hard services management.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food and beverage blending and packaging.
- Contract negotiation and management experience.
- Ability to adapt in a
- paced environment.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
