Capex & Services Buyer
ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons. POSITION SCOPE
The Capex & Services Buyer will manage all Sidul plant capex and services (hard/soft) procurement, working closely with the site Corporate Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams. Responsibilities include managing contracts, ensuring compliance, negotiations, spend profiling, and sourcing alternative suppliers to meet business needs. The role involves developing and executing ASR’s purchasing strategy through vendor relationship management, contracting, project management, and supplier capability evaluation. The candidate should excel in team environments, handle high order volumes, follow process requirements, and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Travel may be up to 5%, primarily to support business needs via teleconferencing and videoconferencing to minimize travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Experience with purchasing on SAP ERP system
- Strong negotiation skills for price, terms, delivery, and volume
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on multiple criteria including quality, reliability, and financial stability
- Develop and manage project procurement plans
- Understand current and future markets for services and capex providers
- Collaborate on specifications, review requisitions, solicit proposals, and perform commercial evaluations
- Anticipate issues, perform needs analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word)
- Ability to operate in a
- volume,
- driven purchasing environment - Adapt to changing market conditions and make informed decisions
- Understand total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Provide excellent customer service and
- up - Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholders, including presentations up to C-level
- Ability to work in an industrial/plant environment and communicate risks proactively

WORK EXPERIENCES
- Background in industrial services or project purchasing, preferably in manufacturing
- Experience in operations, project, or maintenance in related categories
- Understanding of hard services management
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing environments is preferred
- Contract negotiation and management skills
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
