ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons. The company produces a full line of grocery, industrial, food service, and specialty sweetener products. In North America, ASR Group owns and operates six sugar refineries in Louisiana, New York, California, Maryland, Canada, and Mexico. In Europe, the company owns refineries in England and Portugal, and mills in Mexico and Belize. The company’s brands include Domino, C&H, Redpath, Tate & Lyle, Lyle’s, and Sidul.
POSITION SCOPE
The successful candidate will manage all Sidul plant capex and services (hard/soft) for the procurement team. This role is a key member of the site Corporate Engineering team, working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams on all site capex, services, contracts, compliance, negotiations, spend profiles, and sourcing alternative suppliers to meet business needs.
Responsibilities include developing and executing ASR’s purchasing strategy through effective vendor relationship management, contract negotiations, project management, and supplier capability assessment.
Position Responsibilities
- Negotiate and prepare contracts, pricing, and supplier agreements independently
- Evaluate, qualify, and select suppliers based on quality, service, cost, and capability
- Develop and present
- competitive category management strategies, analyzing supply markets and trend data - Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead and present meetings with C-Suite stakeholders
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP) for purchasing
- Negotiate price, terms, delivery, and volume levels with suppliers
- Research and evaluate global and local suppliers based on multiple criteria including price, quality, and reliability
- Understand and apply TCO (total cost of ownership) principles
- Communicate clearly and concisely with all audience levels, including C-level
- Work effectively in an industrial/plant environment, including factory areas
- Proactively communicate risks and issues related to service providers and capital projects
WORK EXPERIENCES
- Strong background in industrial services and/or project purchasing, preferably in manufacturing
- Operations, project, and/or maintenance experience in related categories
- Solid understanding of hard services management
- Experience in manufacturing, preferably in food and beverage blending and packaging
- Contract negotiation and management experience
- Ability to adapt in a
- paced environment
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution
