The Principal, Medicinal Chemist will be responsible for the design and synthesis of Biologically drug candidates and contribute to the advancement of drug discovery programmes to Candidate Selection.

The Impact You’ll Make

• Accountable for the design of new biologically drug candidates based on the most advanced and modern approaches of Medicinal Chemistry;
• Accountable for the planning and execution of synthetic routes for the synthesis of drug candidates;
• Accountable for selecting and prioritizing Hits and Leads as viable starting points for Lead Optimization Programmes;
• Responsible for leading multidisciplinary project teams to the identification of drug candidates;
• Familiarize with all the scientific disciplines contributing to Lead Optimization programmes, understand all the non chemical parameters that influence the biological features of drug candidates;
• Supervise and mentor Junior Medicinal Chemists;
• Participate in brainstorming and contribute to new project proposals and ideas;
• Stay abreast of the literature in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry.

What You’ll Bring

• Ph
  D in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry;
• At least 10 years of experience in organic or medicinal chemistry;
• International reputation in mastering Medicinal and Organic Chemistry;
• Hands on knowledge of NMR HPLC, infrared and ultraviolet, MS techniques;
• Familiar with the most common IT and IS systems and software’s in the field;
• Proven track record in the design and synthesis of biologically active molecules (preferred).
