Job Summary
The Career Services Director reports directly to the Executive Board of Porto Business School and is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating career services that support the career development and employability needs of Porto Business School students and alumni. The role involves strategic planning, relationship building with several stakeholders (employers, students, alumni, faculty and staff), and the management of a team dedicated to career services. A key aspect of this position includes fostering an international perspective to accommodate the diverse student background and global job market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for career services aligned with Porto Business School strategy.
- Lead and manage the Career Services team, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff members.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of career services programs and initiatives.
Employer Relations and Partnerships:
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, industry partners, and alumni.
- Organize
- related events such as career fairs, networking events,
- campus interviews, and company information sessions. - Serve as the primary liaison between the business school and the employer community.
Program Development and Management:
- Design and implement innovative career programs and services that enhance student employability and career readiness, in either national or international environments.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to integrate career development into the curriculum.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of career services technology platforms.
Career Advising and Student Support:
- Provide

- one career counseling and coaching to students and alumni, assisting with job search strategies, cv presentation, interview preparation, and career transitions. - Develop and deliver workshops, seminars, and courses on various
- related topics. - Ensure students have access to current global job market information, employment trends, and career resources.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and report data on employment outcomes, student engagement, and employer satisfaction.
- Use data to enligthen strategic decisions of the School and demonstrate career services value to stakeholders.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the career services budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Seek additional funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Management, Business administration, Psychology or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading career services, recruiting, or corporate relations.
- Strong understanding of business industry trends and recruitment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant Experience required
- Experience in career services, recruitment, human resources, or a related field. Experience in higher education, particularly within a business school environment.
- Experience working with international applicants or in a global job market context, including understanding visa regulations,
- cultural communication, and global employment trends. - Proven leadership and management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience with career services technology and platforms.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of current employment trends and job market conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a
- paced environment.
