OLX is a market leader in the Used Car Parts category and seeks a highly experienced and strategic Category Director to lead and accelerate growth in this segment. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio, developing growth strategies, and overseeing overall performance.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in automotive products, market dynamics, and
- commerce/classifieds, with a passion for driving change and creating seamless customer experiences.
This role carries full P&L responsibility and requires collaboration with product, marketing, sales, and BI teams. The Category Director will manage a team of Category Managers, Go-to-Market Managers, and Business Analysts.
The role reports to Sylvie de Wever, General Manager OLX General Classifieds.
Responsibilities
- P&L Management: Full responsibility for the category’s P&L, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded. Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Strategic Leadership: Create and execute growth strategies, analyze market trends, identify opportunities and threats, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Product Assortment Management: Curate and enhance the product offering, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure a competitive assortment.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team, fostering a
- performance culture with clear objectives and feedback. - Supplier & Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with key partners to ensure product availability.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product, sales, marketing, and BI teams to develop and execute strategies, ensuring seamless communication.
- Market Insights: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to guide strategic decisions.
- Voice of the Category: Act as the category’s advocate within OLX, communicating strategy and performance to leadership.

Key Skills And Experience
- Proven senior leadership experience in marketplace/classifieds/e-commerce/retail or automotive industries, with a successful track record of category growth.
- Deep knowledge of auto parts, automotive aftermarket products, and the automotive ecosystem.
- Experience in category management, product assortment, and vendor negotiations.
- Experience in digital marketing, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.
- Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience.
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to plan
- term and execute detailed,
- on initiatives. - Leadership,
- building, and interpersonal skills. - Analytical mindset with
- driven
- making abilities. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a
