an
Accountant

.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and expense reports
• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Monitor and analyse financial data to identify trends and provide insights to support business
  - making
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal procedures
• Support the preparation of tax returns, VAT filings, and statutory reporting
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors or regulatory bodies as needed
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the ongoing development of financial systems and controls

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an international or
  - paced environment
• Registration with the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC) is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and local tax legislation
• Proficiency in accounting software (e. g. Primavera, Sage, or equivalent) and MS Excel
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Strong analytical and
  - solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Organised, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
