Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Chef de Cocina Peruana located in Lisbon. The Chef will be responsible for designing and preparing Peruvian cuisine, ensuring the authenticity and quality of traditional recipes. Daily tasks include managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, sourcing fresh and authentic ingredients, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and contributing to the development of menus that reflect the rich flavors of Peruvian gastronomy.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in Peruvian cuisine, including mastery of traditional dishes, ingredients, and techniques
- Experience in kitchen management and leadership, including supervising staff, coordinating schedules, and ensuring efficient operations
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards in commercial kitchens and a commitment to maintaining high‑quality operations
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills for effectively managing meal preparation, inventory, and orders
- Creative problem‑solving abilities and a passion for innovating and enhancing authentic Peruvian dishes
- Prior experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a Peruvian restaurant is a significant advantage
- Understanding of local food sourcing and vendor relationships in Portugal or Spain is a plus
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team
- Culinary certifications or relevant professional qualifications are a bonus
