Job Description

• Ensure the appropriate performance and correct implementation of finance administration onboard.
• Supervise the administrative crew such as Accountant and Documentation Purser.
• Oversee all financial processes onboard and take appropriate actions whenever needed.
• Handle all ship’s clearance related matters and maintain a good relationship with local authorities as well as port agents.
• Ensure visa requirements for passengers are met before embarkation.
• Maintain accurate passenger, company, and crew accounts at all times.
• Process the cruise end in the PMS system and settle all crew, passenger and crew accounts.
• Process all payment data in PMS for passengers in due time (authorization and settlement).
• Update daily revenue report and send it to Head of Departments onboard, plus final file to head office.
• Control revenue onboard and ensure all postings are correct.
• Ensure all passenger and crew data is correct at all times in the PMS system.
• Control all cash funds onboard; ensure safe is counted and matches cashbooks at cruise end.
• Report any cash discrepancies onboard directly to the head office.
• Keep cashbook up to date and reconcile with the safe after each cruise.
• Familiarise with all company procedures and SMS.
• Ensure smooth embarkation for passengers, including collecting documents such as passports and registration of credit cards.
• Perform voids as per company guidelines and check them daily.
• Oversee invoice and statement printing for disembarking passengers.
• Calculate commissions and incentives according to company policies and procedures.
• Work closely with all departments onboard to ensure smooth operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a hotel on land or two (2) years’ experience on board a cruise ship in a similar position.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and German.
• Additional foreign language is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.
• Advanced administrative skills (Microsoft Office, especially Excel); knowledge of MXP / POS is a plus.
• Excellent accounting and organisational skills.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to interact with all levels of people.
