Responsibilities

  • Carry out technical studies, feasibility assessments, and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), alongside writing detailed reports and producing plans and designs.
  • Develop detailed designs and prepare associated drawings from concept to construction, ensuring compliance with regulations, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Design and detailing of works associated with highways, drainage, and potable water supply agreements, as well as other relevant consents/permits and negotiation of technical approvals.
  • Design Sustainable Drainage Systems (Su
    DS) to manage flood risks and improve water quality.
  • Evaluate the sustainability and environmental impact of projects.
  • Oversee site investigations (geotechnical and topographic) and analyze the data collected.
  • Efficiently manage resources and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Liaise with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, contractors, consultants, statutory authorities, and clients.
  • Utilize CAD software (Auto
    CAD, Civil 3D, Revit) to support design work.
  • Design drainage, service, road infrastructure, and earthworks on a broad range of projects related to Data Centers.

Job requirements

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum experience per level:
  • Intermediate Level: Relevant degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in a Civil Engineering role.
  • Senior Level: Relevant degree and at least 8 years
    - graduate experience in a Civil Engineering role, with 2+ years leading the design of Data Centers or other
    - critical infrastructure.
  • Experience writing reports such as Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, etc.
  • Experience in industrial facilities and/or design of
    - critical facilities.
  • Experience using Auto
    CAD/Civil 3D (BIM is a plus).
  • Knowledge in the design of foul and surface water drainage systems using modelling software (e. g. , Info
    Drainage, Causway Flow, SWMM).
  • Experience in Potable Water Supply Design and use of potable water network modelling software.
  • Experience using ground modelling software for horizontal/vertical alignment, earthworks, cut and fill analysis.
  • Experience liaising with Structural, Architectural, and MEP teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant national guidance in Portugal; familiarity with Nordic countries’ standards is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English (mandatory); other languages are an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and high quality standards.
  • Ability to effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
