Cloud Architect

We're looking for a Cloud Architect ready to take on new challenges with our Closer team! ?

Direct Responsibilities

• Define and design
  - architecture solutions aligned with business objectives, security requirements, regulatory constraints, and enterprise technology strategy.
• Monitor
  - hosted application portfolios (Saa
  S, Paa
  S, Iaa
  S), assess risk and maturity, and manage migration roadmaps.
• Produce architectural blueprints, design patterns, and reference frameworks (e. g. ,
  - design patterns, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code).
• Advise engineering teams on
  - native design, API strategy, Dev
  Ops practices,
  - analytics, AI/ML integration, and
  - source tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, Open
  Shift, Terraform, Ansible).
• Define and maintain governance processes:
  - security standards, Secure Development Lifecycle practices (SCA, SAST, DAST), compliance controls, and
  - management policies.
• Track industry trends in cloud, AI/ML, APIs, and emerging technologies; provide guidance on adoption and best practices.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies; coordinate
  -
  - concept with internal teams and external partners.
• Troubleshoot complex architectural and platform issues, ensuring continuity and timely execution of migration initiatives.
• Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to technical and
  - technical stakeholders through reports, presentations, and governance forums.

Contributing Responsibilities

• Contribute to cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with security, compliance,
  - sovereignty, and resiliency requirements.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and
  - transfer activities within technical architecture and cloud teams.
• Mentor junior architects and developers; promote best practices and continuous improvement.
• Participate in
  - functional committees (e. g. , API governance, AI/ML oversight, technology partnerships).
• Assist in defining
  - level objectives and operational metrics for cloud solutions.

Technical Skills (Required)

• Solution & Systems Architecture: Strong foundation in distributed systems, OOP, integration patterns, middleware, scalability, and resiliency.
• Cloud Platforms: Minimum 5 years of hands‑on design, migration, and operation experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud).
• Containers & Ia
  C: Kubernetes, Open
  Shift, Docker, Terraform, Ansible – architectural and implementation experience.
• Secure Development Lifecycle: Familiarity with SCA, SAST, DAST, CSPM and integrating these tools into CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud Design Patterns: Ability to document, apply, and enforce reusable patterns across multiple projects.
• Governance & Compliance: Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e. g. , GDPR) and their application in cloud environments.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management: Ability to clearly articulate complex technical topics to technical and business stakeholders.

Technical Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with IBM Cloud services (Cloud Pak, Open
  Shift on IBM Cloud).
• Professional cloud or architecture certifications (AWS SA‑Pro, Azure Architect, Google PCA, TOGAF, etc. ).
• Familiarity with Open
  Stack.
• Exposure to the financial services, fintech, or payments industry.
• Awareness of data science concepts and data‑driven architectures.
