What Do You Need to Be a SMART COBOL DEVELOPER?

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar area
• 4+ years of
  - on experience with COBOL development
• Strong knowledge of Pacbase (yes, we know — not everyone does, but you do ? )
• Proven debugging, analysis, and performance tuning skills
• A structured mindset and attention to clean code, even on complex legacy systems
• The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a
  - functional team
• Great communication skills in English (French is a plus!)

What Will You Do at SMART?

You’ll be part of a team developing and supporting leasing applications for BPCE SI, within one of the biggest French financial groups.

Your mission:

• Design, build and maintain COBOL-based solutions
• Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements
• Use Pacbase tools to evolve the application landscape
• Participate in code reviews, refactors and performance optimizations
• Troubleshoot and support critical production systems
• Create clear technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing
