This is a Hybrid opportunity for Lisbon.

As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be working for our client, a pioneering leader in the banking industry. You will contribute to developing and maintaining core mainframe applications vital for the seamless operation of banking services. This role offers a unique chance to be at the forefront of digital transformation in finance, fostering career growth and technical mastery.

Your main responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Cobol/Mainframe applications to support banking operations.
• Manage data export and import processes efficiently.
• Optimize application performance to ensure high availability.
• Use Unix/Shell scripting for automation and process enhancement.
• Implement messaging solutions utilizing Kafka, APIs, and Webservices (REST, SOAP, Open
  API).
• Support the integration of CI/CD pipelines for continuous deployment.
• Perform SQL (DB2) database management and troubleshooting.
• Provide functional insights and mentorship to junior team members.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in Cobol/Mainframe development within the banking sector.
• Proficiency in Unix/Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Kafka, APIs, and Webservices.
• Experience with CI/CD processes.
• Expertise in SQL (DB2) and related database management.
• Excellent
  - solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior developers confidently.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Certifications in mainframe technologies or related fields.
• Experience working in international or
  - cultural teams.

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent English.
