Offer Description

A call for application is now open for the attribution of 1 (one) Research Fellowship for development of scientific and technological research activities, for the project entitled “Agenda Drivolution – Transição para a fábrica do futuro”, funded by the “PRR - Recovery and Resilience Plan and by the Next
Generation
EU”, through the scheme “Agendas para a Inovação Empresarial”, with the following conditions:

Scientific area: Industrial informatics

Objectives: Study and development of a monitoring system to identify failures and anomalies in data collected from sensing surfaces, promoting a deep analysis to support
- making.

Work plan: This work plan includes the development of the following main tasks:

i) Define the monitoring system architecture to identify faults and anomalies in data collected from sensorized surfaces;

ii) Develop the module responsible for aggregating and storing data collected from sensorized surfaces in a structured and
- time manner;

iii) Implement machine learning algorithms to identify anomalies and faults in the collected data;

iv) Implement the dashboard interface to present the results of the performed analysis;

v) Write technical reports and scientific publications.

The scholarship will initially last for 6 months, starting on 24/09/2025 (with the possibility of renewal for up to a maximum of 24 months, including the initial period).

Candidates must be registered in a Doctoral Program in Intelligent Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related areas.

Specific Requirements

Candidates will be assessed on their academic performance, experience in research activities and experience in Machine Learning techniques, programming in python and monitoring and data analysis tools. Mastery of the English language (written and oral communication) will also be valued.

Additional Information

The scholarship amount corresponds to €1. 309, 64, according to the table of scholarships awarded by the FCT, I. P. in the country.

The scholarship holder will benefit from a personal accident insurance and, if not covered by any social protection scheme, can ensure the exercise of the right to social security by joining the voluntary social insurance scheme, pursuant to the Code of Contribution Regimes of the Social Security Social Security System. The scholarship amount will be paid monthly by bank transfer.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must be registered in a Doctoral Program in Intelligent Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related areas.

Selection process

The selection methods to be used will be as follows:

a) Academic habilitations (40%);

b) Experience, according to the desired profile (40%);

c) Scientific curriculum, considering publications and participation in R&D projects (20%).

The Jury may call the candidates for an interview to clarify different aspects of the CV regarding a better evaluation of the criteria defined in Selection Methods. The jury may not award the scholarship if the candidates' classification is lower than 9. 5 points.

If the decision to be taken is unfavorable to the granting of the requested scholarship, the candidates have a period of 10 working days, after the date of publication of the evaluation results, to express their opinion, if desired, in a prior hearing, under the terms provided for in the Code of the Administrative Procedure.

An appeal may be filed against the final decision to the President of the IPB within 15 working days after the respective notification.

Additional comments

Documents proving the ownership of academic degrees or diplomas, or enrollment in an academic degree or diploma, may be dispensed with during the application stage, being replaced by a declaration of honor by the candidate, and verification of this condition is mandatory during the grant contracting stage.

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require recognition by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16th and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25th. The presentation of recognition is mandatory for the signing of the contract.
