We are looking for a passionate professional to join our team as a Specialist in Compliance, Regulation and Legal at SU ELETRICIDADE. In this role you will ensure our organization adheres to industry and government regulations, develop robust compliance procedures, conduct risk assessments, and provide expert legal guidance.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensuring legal compliance monitoring: Vigilantly monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations in the energy sector to prevent criminal or administrative infractions. Play a crucial role in identifying and understanding the legal and regulatory landscape and shaping our position in the regulated energy market.
- Leading regulatory consultation responses: Prepare accurate and timely responses to public and market consultations, ensuring the company’s position is well represented and aligned with regulatory requirements. Play an active role in shaping regulatory dialogue and reinforcing our influence in the energy market.
- Implementing compliance policies and methodologies: Be at the forefront of ensuring our adherence to the EDP Group's compliance management guidelines and methodologies. Champion the alignment with our Integrity Policy and Code of Ethics, fostering a culture of integrity and excellence.
- Executing standards and procedures: Take charge of implementing robust policies, standards, and procedures. Focus on critical areas such as data privacy, ensuring our company remains a leader in compliance.
- Delivering compliance training and communication: Drive engaging and impactful compliance training programs tailored to our employees' roles and identified risks. Continuously evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of these training initiatives, empowering our team with the knowledge they need to excel.
- Managing third‑party compliance: Assess and mitigate risks in our contractual relationships with third parties. Implement robust control measures and promote comprehensive Integrity Due Diligence for third parties before transactions/contracts, safeguarding our company's interests.
- Providing expert advice: Be a trusted advisor, offering guidance and support across all business areas of the company on compliance matters. Help drive informed decision‑making and ensure our operations align with the EDP Group's directives.

What we look for:
- Bachelor of Laws, with experience in the area of Law.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the energy sector, regulated markets or similar role.
- Experience in coordinating cross‑functional teams is valued.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- A good understanding of the Portuguese energy sector regulations and laws, including compliance standards, is valued.
- Proactive and self‑motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
