Job Description and Responsibilities
Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS seeks a talented Computer Vision and Generative AI Scientist to join the Intelligent Systems group. The role focuses on applied research bridging cutting‑edge science and real‑world impact, advancing synthetic data generation, model auditing, and domain‑specific adaptation.
Responsibilities
- Synthetic Data Generation – research and develop controllable synthetic image generation methods (image/text conditioning) and evaluate high‑quality synthetic data.
- Few‑Shot Adaptation – explore strategies for adapting general‑purpose CV‑Gen
AI models to specialized domains (e. g. , agriculture, health). - Data & Model Auditing – evaluate synthetic and real data quality, audit model performance, and integrate synthetic data into auditing workflows.
- Collaboration & Maintenance – integrate synthetic data strategies into existing pipelines, maintain codebases, and contribute to strategic discussions on research directions.
Your Profile and Qualifications
- Academic – Master’s degree or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering (or related field).
- Technical – Python programming, experience with Py
Torch/Tensor
Flow, generative models (diffusion, GAN, VAE), and metrics for synthetic data fidelity, privacy, and robustness. - Communication – excellent English proficiency, ability to translate research findings into actionable insights.
