We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager for our construction and development company in Lisbon and Sintra. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of construction and renovation works on multiple sites. The projects are exclusive, bespoke
- quality and
- led projects.

The business is part of a group of companies with activities in real estate, hospitality and services, backed by two successful serial entrepreneurs from Germany and the UK who’ve been living in Portugal for the last 8 years.

The successful candidate must have the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the client, architects, interior designer, construction team and subcontracted suppliers and manage the projects including planning, coordinating and driving the execution of the works on site in accordance with schedule and budget.

Responsibilities:

Management, planning, monitoring and supervision of construction projects

Ensure compliance with defined deadlines and budgets

Engage
- site to find solutions with the foreman and workers

Launch tenders, negotiate and select the best suppliers for each phase of the projects

Manage relationships with suppliers, purchase and delivery of materials

Ensure timely submission, issuance and validity of all city council licenses

Define milestones and timeline of the project

Draft project budget

Foster the development and implementation of best practice procedures

Promote productivity and profitability through the use of production ratios

Design efficient technical solutions that respond to customer needs, calculated and dimensioned in accordance with applicable regulations

Analyse and report technical and economic performance of the development

Identify potential roadblocks and design action plans

Liaise between design, engineering and construction teams during each project phase, to identify optimisations and drive harmony and efficiency of delivery

The profile

Master’s degree or Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture

5 - 10 years of proven experience in residential construction project management in Portugal

Proactive attitude

Problem solving skills, solution oriented and ability to work under pressure

Attention to detail

Ability to multitask, set priorities and manage time in different contexts

Good interpersonal skills and communication skills (fluent in Portuguese and fluent in English)

Ability to work in a team with a positive and committed approach
