The finance function in banking is central to financial stability, regulatory compliance, and strategic capital allocation.

What you’ll do

TNP Consultants seeks bright and dynamic consultants with the ability to build relationships and deliver results. As a (Senior) Business Consultant with Finance and Capital Markets expertise, you will lead transformation projects for global banking clients in areas such as accounting and financial reporting, asset & liability management, financial planning and analysis, tax planning, and compliance. You will develop strategic plans, provide insights aligned with business goals, and participate in, manage, and lead projects from execution to completion within time, scope, and budget. At a senior level, you will help identify new business opportunities, participate in proposal writing, contribute to the growth of the practice, and act as a subject matter expert to share knowledge with colleagues and clients.

Your Main Activities Are:

• Business vs Accounting P&L reconciliation
• Accounting and Financial Control
• Analytical review of financial indicators
• Contribution to various projects either Business, IT, or organization driven

Profile and Skills to Success

• MSc degree in Finance, Business, or related areas
• Advanced level of English; Portuguese required; French is a plus
• Experience in audit, accounting, or reporting; international environment experience
• For management roles: at least 3 years of experience
• Interest in Capital Markets financial instruments and business models
• Strong discipline and ability to reflect critically
• Client satisfaction–oriented mindset

What you’ll bring

• Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; Master’s or certifications (CFA, ACCA, CPA) preferred
• Experience: 6–11 years in consulting or the Finance function of global banks; deep understanding of financial processes, systems, and regulatory frameworks
• Finance Expertise: Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory compliance, treasury, ALM
• Capital Markets Product Control: Derivatives, fixed income, FX, equities, structured products; product valuation, P&L attribution, balance sheet substantiation, and daily/monthly reporting
• Front-to-back workflows and collaboration with Front Office, Risk, and Operations
• Regulatory Knowledge: Basel III, IFRS, GAAP
• Project Management: Ability to lead complex finance projects from analysis to implementation
• Analytical Skills, Stakeholder Management, Process Improvement, Technology Savvy (Murex, Calypso, Summit, Bloomberg; GL integrations with SAP/Oracle/Hyperion)
• Risk & Control: Understanding of financial control frameworks and reconciliations
• Communication & Leadership: Interpersonal skills and mentoring experience
• Languages: Portuguese and English mandatory; French a plus
• Mobility: Willingness to travel for
  - term international assignments (e. g. , France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg)
