The Consultants work continually to help ensure that their clients make the best business decisions in the light of VAT changes and development. They monitor and anticipate changes to VAT legislation and respond quickly with advice specific to their clients’ particular compliance requirements.
The Consultants are focused on the preparation and submission of VAT declarations in all countries where our clients develop strategic transactions. Also, the Consultants are the responsible to promote a relationship management and responsibility for communicating with clients and tax authorities in several countries, as well as for monitoring and follow up the respective processes.
The position includes the skills to deal with clients and tax authorities in several jurisdictions, as well as the technical VAT knowledge to provide the VAT services to our clients in several countries in the world. A career as a VAT Consultant will suit those people who enjoy constantly researching and analyzing problems, enjoy being an ‘expert’ in their field and have an ability to communicate complex pieces of information in a simple and easily understood manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and understand client's business and flows to ensure that VAT compliance is completed speedily and efficiently and submitting VAT declarations and associated documents by the appropriate deadlines.
- Analyze VAT data submitted by clients, prepare, and validate the VAT declarations to ensure that completed forms follow legislation and regulations in each country.
- Point of contact with the client and preparation of report and advice emails to clients.
- Point of contact with the tax authorities in the countries where the clients have strategic transactions.
- Handle the reception and the answer to the information requests and audits performed by the tax authorities on behalf of the clients.
- Assist Senior / Manager in dealing with other intricate business issues of clients.
- Follow up the processes of VAT registration / VAT deregistration processes to ensure that follow legislation and regulations in different countries.
- Helping businesses and individuals create strategies for dealing with VAT and prepare for their future in the financial market.
- Proactivity research and update of VAT knowledge data basis.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree in Law, Management or Economics. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Other languages will also be valued in the recruitment process.
Professional experience of at least 2 years in a multinational company / environment.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power
Point, Outlook and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
No specific certificate or license.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
- Standard indoor office environment.
- Long periods of sitting while working at computer.
- Occasional long periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 30 lbs.
- Position requires regular interaction with employees and vendors both in person and via email and telephone.
- Independent travel requirement: 5 – 10%
