Air Liquide Europe Business Services (ALEBS) was created in 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal to provide financial services for Air Liquide European entities. Within four years, it grew to over 400 employees across three offices (Lisbon, Tomar, and Guarda) and now supports entities in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and India. Operating across Finance and Human Resources, ALEBS is expanding its scope and impact.
Continuous Improvement Specialist – Operational Excellence Lead
We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to drive operational excellence across the organization using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. This role will identify, analyze, and implement process improvement projects that deliver efficiency gains, cost reductions, and higher service quality. A Green Belt certification and a passion for data‑driven problem solving are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end‑to‑end Continuous Improvement (C‑Imp) projects using DMAIC methodology.
 - Apply Lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Management) and Six Sigma techniques (statistical and variance analysis) to optimize internal processes.
 - Collect, analyze, and interpret process performance data to identify root causes and quantify the impact of improvement solutions.
 - Collaborate with department leaders and cross‑functional teams to secure alignment, gain buy‑in, and ensure sustainability of changes.
 - Mentor and coach operational teams in continuous improvement principles.
 - Create comprehensive process documentation (AS‑IS & TO‑BE) and control plans to sustain improvement gains.
 
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Management, HR, or a related field.
 - 3–5 years of proven experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or project management.
 - Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (mandatory).
 - Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (e. g. , Minitab) and process mapping tools (e. g. , Visio, Lucidchart).
 - Fluency in English (written and spoken).
 - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
 - Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to audiences ranging from operational staff to executives.
