Join the Building Division of VINCI Construction Grands Projets
We are seeking a Contract Manager for a 2-year assignment on a construction project based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and implement contract management strategies for the project.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Manage contract amendments and variations, ensuring proper documentation and agreement.
- Monitor contract performance and resolve issues or disputes.
- Provide guidance on contractual matters to project teams.
- Maintain accurate records of all
- related documents and communications. - Collaborate with legal, finance, and procurement teams.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare reports on contract status and performance for senior management.
- Manage riders and amendments, optimizing timing and costs.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders on contractual matters.
- Oversee resolution of contractual disputes and claims.
- Support the achievement of project milestones and objectives.
- Liaise with the Legal Department of each Consortium member.
- Monitor changes in scope, schedule, and costs from a contractual perspective.
- Take full responsibility for contractual aspects of the project.
- Draft contractual correspondence and standard contracts for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Establish systems for subcontractor payment certification and contract closure.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree (Bac+5) in law, engineering, or construction management with at least 5 years of experience in contract management within large infrastructure or construction projects.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of contract law and international standards (FIDIC, NEC, etc. )
- Experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts
- Ability to manage claims, amendments, and risks
Interpersonal Skills:
- Collaborative team player with
- cultural communication skills - Excellent written and verbal communication
- Diplomatic communication with stakeholders
Languages:
- Fluent Portuguese (spoken, written, read) — mandatory
- Proficient in English — required
- French — an asset
Reporting and Entity Information:
Reporting to the Deputy Project Manager.
